The paddle feels very different than most. I am not the biggest fan,
yet I
use it all the time. When intergrated with the KX1 it just makes sense
and
WORKS. I keep wishing it had a more mechanical feel and it took some
getting
used to, but if you own the KX1 you should give the paddle a fair
chance. In
context, it's worth the price.

AE7RW's comments:

I agree with Lonnie. The paddle has an unusual feel to it. I have to place my fingers on the very ends of the paddles in order to make the contacts close. I gotta be conscience of doing this... or now code is sent. The rubber covers on the ends of the paddles are unusual to my feel. I sometimes wonder how long they will stay soft and pliable.

There is no mechanical feel to them. There is no mechanical pivot point like in a large set of paddles. The equivilent [as I see it] pivot point is where the assembly screws into the radio case. I have read postings that mentioned the hold down screw comes loose with a lot of use. There is probably some flexing going on at that point.

Like Lonnie says above.... I think it's worth it to give the paddles a fair chance because they are a part of the radio system.

My $.02 worth
