[Elecraft] Need help with KX1

Just finished my new KX1.  No options installed yet.  Receives FB on 40 =
and 20 meters and WWV.  Transmits on 40 meters no problem and I made =
first QSO with 3.8 watts out.  Sounds good when I listen with my K2 on =
40 meters but not on 20 meters.  On 20 meters, the power out to dummy =
load is 3.5 watts but sounds bad.  Signal is very raspy and the side =
tone has background hum.  Must be some kind of oscillation getting into =
signal. Should I build 30 meter board?  That might provide some more =
info.  Any ideas?    Thanks   -   Rick - K7MW  =20
