I don't have anything other than my gut reaction, but I've been using a
half-sized G5RV up about 20 feet for a year now.  It performs noticeably
better than the Outbacker vertical I was using in the back yard.  I'm in no
danger of earning DXCC (or even WAS for that matter), but I don't feel like
I'm using a dummy load for an antenna anymore!

My $0.02...
