Joe,
Most of your power is making it happily out the antenna.  Don't sweat the
3:1 on the in line SWR meter.  Most of them are notoriously inaccurate over
some bands.  Especially when you try to use them in back or front of another
SWR indicator.  You are getting an SWR null; the lights of the null type led
meter show that. You are therefore, matched as well as that set up can.
Like I said, try quarter wave counterpoise on ground of the xtransmitter
case, and see if that helps;
but call CQ or answer CQ's happily anyway.  This is not rocket science, and
all your power save a little for wire resistance loss goes out the antenna
eventually, no matter the SWR value.
