Hello elecrafters,
I recorded 2 .wav-files , one premod and one after the mod.
You can download them at http://home.vr-web.de/~hms/elecraft/
premod_k2.wav:
Listening to the .wav-file, you hear the zerobeat-signal, with the
dit-lever closed.
(caution: might be LOUD at the beginning). Then i move the RX-freq. upwards.
You hear the string of dits.
You then hear 5 clicky dits, that ist 500hz up from zerobeat.
Next you hear 10 clicky dits, that is 1khz up from zerobeat.
Third, you hear 15 clicky dits, that is 1.5khz up from zerobeat (turn
the volume of your speakers up).
All this with only 2 Watts from K2 #2706, just enough to swing the
s-meter of my TS 850 (400hz Inrad-Filters in both I.F,s) to S9.
aftermod_k2.wav:
Same setup as before, but with the K2 Keying Modification .
Again, first you hear the zerobeat-signal, then i move the RX-freq.
upwards. You hear the string of dits.
At 500hz up from zero-beat, you hear 5 dits, but clicks are
(almost/fully?) gone.
At 1000Hz up (10 dits), no clicks noticable.
At 1500Hz up, the signal is almost gone.
Again, not a very scientific method, but one can hear the difference.

Martin
