I have the Xytronic 968. Jameco sells it for $299.95. I put off buying it
for many, many years because of the price, and that was a mistake. It is a
joy to use, and is the best investment I have made in a lifetime of
tinkering with electronics. I bought it several years ago while building my
K2 to take care of some small "oversights". I have used it a lot since
then, and I have not found a job that it cannot tackle instantly.
About 15 or 20 years ago, my sister bought me the Xytronic 168-3C analog
soldering station for my birthday. It, too, is a delight to use. I would
be lost without it. That is why I bought their desoldering station. The
168-3C is still available. Its price is very reasonable. I have been
puzzled as to why the Xytronic products have not been mentioned on this
reflector. Are they not well known, or well thought of?
