First set of checks passed by KX1 #533. Everything nominal after
correcting one SCBTH (short circuit between the headphones).
Yellow-violet-black (47) can look a lot like yellow-violet-brown (470) to
old eyes. But when used as the limiting resistor for the LED, D1, it can
make for a very bright light, indeed. Fortunately I habitually keep a
milliameter in line with power supplies when doing initial testing, and
set the current limit on the supply low. When I saw over 100 mA and
limiting I knew something was amiss. Sure enough 47 ohms at R23 instead
of 470. Replaced with the correct part (which had been hiding out on the
inventory sheet at R14) as all was well.
D1 is one tough customer to take that licking and keep on ticking (sorry
JCS)
Don't worry Gary and Scott, I have plenty of resistor stock to take care
of the replcement R14.
That enough for tonight, more assembly tomorrow... This KX1 is bound for
Wes, W5DPM.
