[Elecraft] Separate KPA100?

Has anybody built the KPA100 separate from the K2?  I'm thinking a K2 along 
with a permanent KAT2 and then putting the KPA100 and KAT100 together in an EC2 
to operate as a pair side by side. Is there a "factory approved" way to do 
so? (With a quick disconnect, of course?) Or is there a better way accomplish 
what I'm striving for?
