[Elecraft] KPA100 Shield Mod

Dave and all,
What I have found is that with the clips installed on the shield, one MUST
lift the KPA100 almost straight up to keep from bending the clips.
When the KDSP2 is installed, the KPA100 is supposed to be moved slightly to
the rear to release the pad for the DSP daughterboard. If the shield clips
installed, that movement is likely to bend the clips (and if it doesn't, the
clips may not be making adequate contact with the side panels).
So if the KDSP2 is installed in the same box as the KPA100, I highly
recommend that one loosen ( or remove entirely) the side panels first, and
then remove the KPA100 - it is not much extra effort to remove the side
panels.
As a side note, Elecraft recommends removal of the right side panel when
installing (or re-installing) the KPA100 to dress the leads going to the
amplifier, so it is just a small extra step to remove the left side panel
too.
