Mike,
I think it is really a case of 'splitting hairs' over semantics.
Yes - technically, antennas will not cause interference, but the placement
and inherent design of some antennas can allow RF to couple into things
where one would not desire to have that RF - and THAT is the real problem.
Balanced antennas usually are the easiest to tame - just keep them balanced,
both electrically and physically. Inherently unbalanced antennas such as
verticals are not usually a problem since one end of the feedpoint should be
at ground potential and they are current fed (relatively low impedance - 10
to 100 ohms). The frequent culprits are the antennas that fall in between
these two examples - off-center fed types such as the windom as well as
end-fed wires (and physically unbalanced dipoles too). These latter types
are often critical of changes in feedline length, length of the wire,
physical placement, and other hard to chase down anomolies.
I am not saying that end fed wires and off center fed antennas are not
good - they certainly can and will radiate RF, but only that they are often
difficult to tame when stray RF is an issue.
