Hi Don,

Indeed it does. The AGC is audio-derived and covers a wide range of signal
levels. The AGC is supplemented by limiting action by the AF amp. The AF amp IC
is run from a lower voltage than usual, establishing a safe maximum AF transient
level during loop settling. The decay time constant is a compromise that works
well for both slow and fast fading.
