I must be tired this evening. We got two new states and I didn't even
recognize the fact! We picked up MT and NH. NH was by the skin of my
teeth but it's in the books none the less.
Only six to go for ECN to qualify for WAS: DE, KY, NE, SD, VT, WY. I
think I have enough serial numbers so ECN can qualify for the Century
Award too. I have 102 in the log but I may need a few more to make sure.
There are a number of you from the early days who I missed taking some
information when you checked in. When the website to be gets in shape
please check and send me any fills or corrections you may have. Stay
tuned and I'll keep you apprised of my progress in creating the site. I
have been offered some web space which will allow me to write some cgi
scripts so I can have a database set up on the site. That would make it
much easier to post and correct information each weekend.
I would also like to call for volunteers for relay stations across the
United States and Canada. We've lost a number of you recently to
propagation difficulties and I would like to hear from you all again. We
may not have gotten your information the first time and you may not have
been able to get in touch with like minded Elecraft folks. I read a few
emails about lack of propagation across the US for the EQP but comments
went both ways. I, for one, had a great time during my limited on air
schedule.
Please join us if you want to collect a few serial numbers, if you want to
hear other Elecraft folk, if you want to check propagation on 20 or 40
meters, or if you just want to practice and hear CW. Doesn't matter if
you don't have an Elecraft rig. I am sure Wayne and Eric wouldn't mind
selling you one (just to get started that is). Some of these folks have
three and four Elecraft rigs so I need to ask them which one they're using
;)
Until later 73,
Kevin. KD5ONS (Net Operator in Training)
