And that's the way it is in the major contests like ARRL DX, CQ WW, WPX,
where signal reports are required.  Most all logging software comes up with
5NN as a default, which covers about 90% of all the QRO signal reports in a
QRO contest.
With the major QRP contests you have to go in and change it to 55N, which
covers about 90% of the QRP signal reports in a QRP contest.
You can generally tell the paper loggers - they do things like 539, 549, 569,
579 and ** shudder ** 589.
