[Elecraft] K2 - auto spacing keyer (Bug Mode)

So you want a keyer that adds extra-long spaces between dahs?=20
A real "bug" (semi-automatic key) doesn't force any spaces except those
between dits in a string of dits but, of course, an operator is free to =
make
the spaces whatever he/she wants on a real bug. Is that what this is =
trying
to emulate?=20
Personally, I'd like the keyer logic to emulate a real "bug" so I don't =
have
to carry my semi-automatic key into the field with me. No =
auto-completing
dits or dahs, no automatic spaces. Just a key closure when the dah =
paddle is
closed for as long as it's closed and a string of dits with standard =
spaces
between them as long as the dit paddle is closed. Doesn't have the feel =
of a
real bug, but it behaves like one for those times when a real bug isn't
practical.=20
I use a real bug (a Speed-X or a Vibroplex) on my K2 and use the KX1's
internal keyer like a "bug", but I sometimes forget and try to send a
telegrapher's zero (long dash) with on the KX1 and, of course, the KX1's
keyer dutifully sends two dashes! Grrrrrrr.....

Hi Fraser, just looked up the RMK kit which implements "Bug Mode", this =
is
something I've been looking for for sometime. Does this chip work well =
in
this mode, thinking of ordering a kit just for the "Bug Mode".
