[Elecraft] K2 and Low residue solder

Don raises a good point. During the days of the Apollo space program, I
worked in R&D for a well known microwave company. Anyone that could
possibly touch a system or subassembly for one of our NASA contracts was
obliged to take a short seminar in NASA hand soldering techniques. We used
nothing but Ersin multicore products, with a 63/37 mix, and it was not by
accident. The SN62 is a more recent vintage.
To this day, I still use those techniques on all of my ham projects, and of
course the same solder. Loctite/ Ersin does offer a "no clean - clear
residue" version, but I confess I've never tried it.

Don,
With all due respect to your experience; in 45 years I have seen in
professional electronics use a marked improvement in joint quality with
Multicore products over Kester 44; and I have carried out testing for my
firm a number of times.
