Another Tip you may or may not find useful. Laminate your logs with clear
plastic shelving paper. You can then write on it with pencil, transfer your
log, erase and use them over.

When the KX1 is used hand-held, it's difficult to log, since you need
three hands (one each for the KX1, log, and pen). To simplify this,
we've created a loose-leaf mini-log that attaches to the back of the
radio via the thumbscrews. When operating hand-held, you simply flip
the rig over and log the QSO. Even when not operating hand-held, the
log sheets can be stored in this location for ready access. They're
easy to get off because of the two U-shaped channels for attachment at
the thumbscrews. In our tests, the log worked well even with a solder
lug attached at one thumb screw (for a trailing ground wire).

You'll find a .pdf file for the mini-log, and a photo showing the log
sheets in use, at:

Feel free to print out as many sheets as you'd like for your own use.
We suggest heavy card stock, 65 pound or higher (about the weight of
business card paper). Trim out the sheets carefully using an X-acto
knife or other sharp tool. You can stack quite a few sheets under the
thumb screws -- certainly enough for a typical outing. You could also
cut out a piece of transparency stock or Vellum to protect the paper
sheets during transport. This top sheet should be moved to the bottom
of the stack during operation.

We didn't include columns for mode or power output level. This info
could be noted in the blank area at the right of the mini-log, since
it's likely to be the same for a group of QSOs.

Be sure to write small!
