[Elecraft] K2 Preamp on and huge key clicks. Normal?

WHen the noise is repetitive and the blanker gates the
receiver off in a quasi-periodic fashion, this will act like
a mixer. Since the pulse repetition rate (such as in a car)
is pretty low, it will mix all sorts of nearby signals into the
passband of your filter. There is a way around this and with
the advent of more and better DSP, the impulse noise cancellation
problem will get better and better.

Hi Andy,

Was your noise blanker ON? If so, the additional gain from the pre-amp
could
increase the NB's tendency to cause strong signal IMD. This is true of all
noise blankers.
