[Elecraft] AGC and AF gain

Hi Elecrafters:

I turned the AGC off the other day and was suprised to note a very noticible increase in audio volume.  I had to back the AF gain down by a quarter to  a third turn to get it at a reasonable listening level.  I tried this on several signals and it was the same.  It has always seemed that my K-2 has been weak in audio volume. Doesn't seem like this should be so.  Any thoughts?  Recheck the AGC threashold setting?
