Hi Per,

     I ended up buying a Hustler 6BTV and mounting it behind my shack.  The 
noise is a little worse but the signals come in at least twice as strong as 
with my dipole, (however, the dipole is more like a monopole with a single 
counterpoise).  You may want to checkout www.dxengineering.com.  They have a lot of 
fun stuff that may help your installation go more smoothly.  Home depot also 
sells a 3-legged stand that you could use for temporary installations.  Best of 
luck on your endeavor and hang in there...its worth it.  We're patiently
