I heard that ICOM is quietly introducing the IC-7800E. It's a case
with a drop down front panel. The inside is rigged up so that
your Elecraft rigs will slide inside and automatically connect to
power and RF jacks.

The real diehards can also purchase TK7800ES(Tuning Knob 7800 Elecraft Stealth)
which is a tuning knob that looks like an Elecraft knob to allow the discerning
ham the opportunity to "reach for the preferred rig" regardless of light
conditions.

An unnamed Icom spokeman allowed the the new model would mean that tests results
of a fully equiped IC-7800E would always compare favorably to a popular kit
transceiver.
