[Elecraft] High SWR, - how much is OK?

Hello all!

After hooking my K2 up to the wrong antenna for the band I was working
on without a SWR meter or a tuner, and later finding out that I had near
infinite SWR, I am wondering  . . .  how tolerant of high SWR values is
the K2?

I think I read somewhere that there was some kind of protection for the
finals in high SWR conditions, but what exactly does that mean? Does it
mean that it will tolerate a 3:1 for a long period, or does it mean that
it will tolerate a 300:1 for a short period?

I don't think I did any damage to my finals, but It made me curious.
