[Elecraft] RE: MORE CONCISE INFORMATION ON "HAS ANYONE SEEN THIS"

Here is what I have been able to verify.
8R (8.0 VOLTS TO THE RECEIVER SECTION IS BEING TURNED OFF BY THE MCU
IMMEDIATELY UPON COMPLETION OF THE ELECRAFT 	MESSAGE ON POWER UP. You hear a
brief burst of atmospheric noise then the reciever goes quiet.

Verfied Conditions expected to transition unit receiver 8 V.
***Tune Switch - Verified the operation of the tune switch by HOLDing it and
hearing the beep indication TUNE had not been set. Closing the KEY ckt does
not return the unit to receive.
***PTT is not currently wired as I have not gotten to the SSB adapter.
Verified PTT being held high by 82K resistor RP4 by measured 5.0V.
***DOT/PTT - Closing DOT to VDD would generate sidetone and no sidetone is
present(Sidetone is operational when DOT or DASH are toggled at the key
jack).

Additional Information:
***The last segment of the S Meter is illuminated alone. I have looked the
manual over and have not been able to verify this as a transmit indicator?
***The 8T voltage to the trnnsmitter is NOT switching(NO T8 Voltage to the
transmitter).
***RESET has no effect on the condition other than the period between reset
and the unit returning to the frequency display.
***Activating the KEYER will while DOT and DASH are held key down, the T8
and R8 voltages switch as would be be expected. Immediately upon key up the
reciever R8 voltage remains off.
***ALL of the steps in Alignment and Test Part II were completed with now
problems, and were re-done just to make sure. You can turn the R8 voltage on
by going into menu and advancing the menu until you reach ATU. The reciever
R8 voltage will be turned on. You can continue to advance the menu through
all of its items and the voltage will remain supplied to the reciever
circuits. As soon as you exit the MENU by tapping MENU the voltage to the
reciever circuits is removed.

I would greatly appreciate any help you might render. Just my luck to
recognize this was occuring on a weekend when you cannot call the calvary
but those guys deserve a couple of days off too.
