[Elecraft] A pleasant surprise!

On a rare vacation day from work, I took the opportunity to try and work
some of the guys from the Flying Pigs this afternoon on 20 Meters.
Calling CQ on 14.062 MHz, I was answered by John, AB4GK.

During our conversation, John made it known to me that I was his first
QSO on his recently completed KX1 !!!  John was a solid 559 into New
Jersey from Georgia.  Despite some QSB we had a fine business QSO.

My K1 was set for 4 watts and John reported that his KX1 was putting 4
watts into a random wire and he was transmitting across the street from
a nature preserve.

An ordinary QSO ??  Maybe, but it was certainly an honor being someone's
first Q on their new KX1; and it was a double honor to be able to
respond using a K1 !

John, many wishes for a lot of good years of fun with your KX1 !
