[Elecraft] ground question and soldering tip

I have the K2 screensaver and one of the pics has a grounding strap on =
the back of the K2 from the 160M recieve ant bnc to one of the mounting =
nuts for RS 232 port(KIO2).  What is this for?  I dont remember anything =
in the manuals for it.

PS Got the XG-1 and KAT-2 in the mail yesterday and the parts are =
assorted in my bins ready for assembly! First Im putting my dummyload =
and wattmeter together first from Oak Hills Research though.  Also =
wanted to pass this on I have a Lamp from Home Depot that has a =
magnifying glass built in it.  The boom is similiar to the PL2 boom for =
the new Desk Mics Elecraft is selling.  I unscrewed one of the arms and =
slipped my spool of solder in it.  So now when the lamp is up and on my =
solder is out of the way of everything and doesnt get caught on stuff.
