You may want to plumb the files of the Crystal Radio Club on Yahoo.  Bill 
Hebbert did extensive research on rook vs. basket weave vs. close wound 
coils, solid vs. Litz, on coils suitable for the BCB.  His findings of Q and 
data are reported at that site.  PVC forms are poor in comparison with 
styrene, but then the Q you require might not make the difference worth it.
