Hello Ken:
Well....The KX-1 is now up and running! The problem seemed to be nothing but
builder stupidity....I had taked out the jumper on J7 in anticipation of
installing the ATU, but then read that I should use the radio for a while to
get used to it....I am now getting about 3.1 watts on 20 meters and about
3.3 watts on 40 meters. I will install the 30 meter module tomorrow after I
play with the radio for a while. The hum in the VFO even went away after
replacing the jumper.....About to put it on the air. I will try both the
BTV5 vertical and also the Delta Loop. I is now 20:40Z. I will get on 20
around 14.062+- for about half an hour then switch to 7.044 for another half
an hour and then back to 20.....Just finishing up the final assembly now.
Hope to hear you in there Ken.
