Truly amazing -=20

I cut a multiconductor rotator control cable for 1/4 wave on 20, 30, and =
40 meters as suggested by Rich Arland K7SZ on page 6-3 of ARRL's Low =
Power Communication. Just take the cable and strip off two of the 5 =
wires and cut the other three to the dimensions above. Cut one of the =
others to 16 feet and the other to 26 feet and you have all the antennas =
you need for the KX1. I strung up the rotator wire on a 20 foot fishing =
pole on my backyard deck and put it under the patio door. Then the 16 =
foot counterpoise went on the floor. As I sat in front of the TV =
chatting to my wife and answering all the phone calls my teenage son =
gets while he is out I tuned up:
40m - 1.1 SWR
30m - 1.2 SWR
20m - 1.7 SWR

After two calls of CQ at 1 watt out on 10.106, Cederic, CT3FT from =
Madiera Island (off the west coast of Africa) comes back nice and =
strong. We give each other 579 RSTs and then the pile up starts.

What a fun rig! =20
