Yes. And a tape demagger is likely to be required as opposed to a tape
head demagger, which is likely to be too weak a field. Also for the
tools, I suspect that you will need to do more than "wave it" -- the
tool will need to be in quite close proximity to the demag unit. But
continuous motion near the demagger, and the slow withdrawl followed by
shutdown is right on.
