[Elecraft] K1 & K2 ' Airport issues "

Hello! Ive been pondering buying a K1 or K2.. and I just cannot for the 
life of me come up with any logical reason NOT TO! Basically this means 
as soon as I get 'permission' Ill make an order. I do however have a few 
questions.. Has any one taken the K1 or K2 threw an x-ray machine at an 
airport? If so.. any problems? Also.. is there any laws regarding taking 
an HF transmitter that is potentially battery operated on board a 
commercial, domestic flight? I know abt them asking me 100 times do you 
have a lap top in there? Well i always answer no.. ( no lap top ) but im 
wondering if these x-ray machines would or could potentially damage some 
of the IC's within.

Also.. I'm curious as to see if any one has Built a K1 in their own 
enclosure? To make it larger.. I supose this would defeat one of the 
purposes of the radio... but I tend to like things a little larger... Im 
not a backpacker.. bringing the K1 on a family trip probabally wouldent 
happen.. so if any one has done so I'de like to hear about that too.
