   I wonder if noise cancelling headphones would be worth considering.  
   Mine work well on airplanes.  It might help with the generator noise -- 
   less likely with noise from SSB ops.

I've tried them, but so far, they're too susceptible to RF.  They are
somewhat effective for generator noise, but I think sound blocking
works at least as well.  And I can doze with sound plug headphones in,
but not with noise cancelling phones.
I've not tried the version from Heil, though.

And my apologies for not trimming the stuff from the bottom of the
