Given the cost (travel and lost income) I could buy and install a very 
robust antenna which the KX1 would easily tune.  Poor tradeoff :-)

I can easily come up with an antenna meeting my requirements.  My 
question was more on matching the Carolina Windom, which I have no 
experience with.  I do expect problems with the 51 ft G5RV, particularly 
on 30 m -- which I don't operate much anyway.
