[Elecraft] K2 hears image or ?

I was working a weak station on 21.018 MHz this morning and was annoyed 
by a carrier on almost the same frequency.  The carrier was fading up 
and down in a way characteristic of a distant station.  I was surprised 
to notice that it tuned in the reverse direction from normal signals!

The signal disappeared when the antenna was disconnected so it was not 
an internal spur.  Could it be some kind of image response?  I vaguely 
recall that some European K2 users had some kind of BC problem, can 
anyone refresh my memory about whether it was on 21 MHz and what they 
did about it?
