[Elecraft] OT - Looking for a 12VDC 4W-10W AF amp

Hi folks:

I'm looking for a, AF amp which can be powered by a single-ended 12VDC
power supply and which will supply 4W to 10W into a 4 Ohm load.

I'd like to find a single-chip (possibly a TO-220 case) Ic circuit which
doesn't require too many additional components.

I've been 'playing' around with a pair of LM-380N's in a bridged circuit,
but 1) the ICs get quite hot (even with no drive) and 2) the input is much
too Hi-Z and picks up just about anything that's floating around the shack.
The LM380 is difficult to adequately heatsink as well.. and yes, I do have
all the requisite (heatsink) pins well grounded to as much copper on the PC
board as I can find.

I've found several 10W amps, mostly from National Semiconductor, but
virtually all require +/-12VDC or more and when run off a single-ended
12VDC supply, they only put out a couple watts.

I'll be using this amp to replace a damaged 5W-7W AF amp from a Motorola
amplifier speaker.

PLEASE REPLY DIRECTLY TO ME AND OFF-REFLECTOR.

All assistance appreciated.
