My N4PY Pegasus/Jupiter Control Program has now been enhanced to
operate with the Elecraft K2 and is available for general use.
Highlites of using the N4PY Control Program with the K2 are:
1) You can use any logging program that says it works with the TenTec
Pegasus. All you have to do is configure the logging program for a
TenTec Pegasus and run my software along with the logging program.
Many logging programs use this interface. A few popular logging
programs that are supported include WriteLog, DX4Win, LogEqf, WinEqf,
DXBase, and LOGGER.
2) You can use the K2 with another K2 or a tentec rx320 receiver to get
full DUAL receive for DX split operation. Two K2's allow the program
to help in an SO2R situation. The program will export the frequency
of the last K2 to transmit for logging purposes.
3) You can do instant one click band hopping to any CW or SSB band.
There are separate band buttons for CW and SSB on each band.
4) All mode, filter, and frequency settings are remembered as you leave a
band segment so they can be fully restored when you return to that band
segment.
5) Full CW Keyboard Keyer available. There is no keying interface required
to key the K2. It is keyed via serial commands over the serial port.
6) You can still operate the radio from the K2 front panel or the program
interface.
7) The program automatically picks up manual entry changes to the K2
front panel.
8) There is a spectrum sweep that will give you a picture of the band
for checking band openings or to just see how busy a band is. You can
directly click on this spectrum picture to instantly move the K2 to that
frequency.
9) You have unlimited memories with the program's internal memory
window.
These are just some of the reasons to use my software with your K2.
My webpage has not yet been changed to show the K2. However, you
can look at the N4PY Pegasus program screen shot and manual at my
webpage for more information.
