[Elecraft] KX1 Portable antennas

Dear all,

now that KX1 #231 is complete, and sitting proudly next to K2 #2356 on my
operating bench I was wondering about taking it "on safari". Well probably
nothing as exotic as that, but I guess you get the idea. I had a quick play
one lunchtime (on a day it wasn't cold, windy and wet) with a 28' wire and a
16' wire. With the longer wire hung from the bedroom window to the rig on a
table in the garden the ATU would give a good match on all 3 bands.
Conditions weren't very clever so I didn't try a "back garden portable" QSO.

What lengths of wire - or other sorts of wire antennas - are other KX1 users
finding to work well? I really would like to have a go portable with this
rig sometime, and so all wisdom will be gratefully received for distilling
before I have a go (why reinvent the wheel?).
