Ted,

It sounds like you may have measured the emitters instead of the collectors.
U4 out is connected to the emitter of Q1 and should have the same reading.

Check the basing diagrams again carefully and see if it makes a difference.

Hi Folks:
I'm just in the middle of my first K2 construction, having completed the
control board and front panel boards. One possible problem: performing
resistance checks on the control board, I find that transistors Q1 and Q2 do
not present resistances as per the instruction manual. Assuming I've
interpreted the diagrams correctly, the collectors of both yield 3.83K
(similar to U4 out, and not the greater than 1M specified in the
manual)--This is the pin closest to the edge of the circuit board. For the
record the center pin of both (B) yields 7.74K, and the remaining pin on
both (E) yields greater than 2M. Have I made a mistake somewhere; I've
carefully double checked everything. Any suggestions would be much
appreciated.Tnx.
