Greetings to one and all!

I am happy to report that my new basic K2, s/n 3899, is alive

as of January 4, 2004. Made two minor mistakes over a three week

build period, but found them quickly. Have made quite a few 5 Watt DX

QSOs already. A few comments:

I built my first Heathkit in 1954 (AT-1 Transmitter) Since then I have =
built

more kits than I can remember. I love building (and operating). In all =
of my

experiences in this hobby, nothing has impressed me more than the K2!

Its engineering, maintainability, construction manual, modularity, =
quality,

and support (from Elecraft and the reflector) is outstanding. Great =
job, guys

and gals!

I have wound many toroids in the past, but, at the age of 62, when I saw =

the availability of the pre-wound coils from Mychael, I could not =
resist. I

consider this money well spent, and I highly recommend this approach if

you can afford it.

I will start on the KSB2 tonight, and then on the KPA100.

73 to all
