Hi, Steve:
It is possible that they will ship a disc ceramic instead of the cap =
shown
in some kits. It depends upon what is available when parts are =
purchased.
The physical appearance of the various kinds of caps that may be shipped =
are
shown in the parts list (Appendix A-1 and the top of A-2).=20
I wonder if the page break in the parts list is confusing? Perhaps we =
should
show a disc ceramic on page A1 as well to emphasize that some of the =
caps on
A1 could be disc ceramics.=20
As you've noted, both C45 and C56 are 68 pf. The important difference
between C56 and C45 is the lead spacing:
C56 has a 0.1" lead spacing
C45 has a 0.2" lead spacing=20
(See the description in the step at the top left of page 33 of the =
manual
and in the note with C45 in the parts list, page A1 for more info).=20
As long as the value and lead spacing are correct, you're in business.=20

Can anyone describe to me wht the capacitor C56, I think, across pins 2 =
and
3 of the K1 relay looks like. Mine , which is clearly marked 68 , is a
disc-shaped ceramic capacitor unlike what's in the KX1 Manual. Just =
wanted
to make sure I was soldering the right one across the pins 2 and 3 of =
the
relay.
Tnx,
Steve
