[Elecraft] KX-1 #318 Excellent !

Hi E-crafters:

Got the KX-1 with all the trimmings for Christmas and have greatly 
enjoyed building it.  All went very smoothly - I built the ATU and 30M 
modules and the only stumble I had was during the re-alignment of the 
receiver after installing the 30M unit.  In order to get to the 
trimmers, the ATU has to be extracted.  I couldn't figure out why I 
suddenly couldn't hear anything on listening to any band except when I 
touched the 30M and 20M trimmers with my screwdriver.  Then finally it 
dawned on me to put the wire jumper back in J7 (I believe) and bingo - 
all was well.

First contact - 9V0A on 30M with 4 watts into a Carolina Windom working 
up by maxxing out the RIT (5 kHz) - he was working the pileup up 5-7 
kHz.  After several attempts, he came back to me with a 559 report.

Only wish we could fit 3 more batteries in the case - hi hi
