[Elecraft] KX1 and Par Electronics 20/40 QRP Ant.

I've had pretty good results with every long wire I've thrown up. My first
was a 26 ft with 16 ft counterpoise to check out the KX1 after construction.
Loaded on all bands and worked 6 states. The second was a 55 ft with three
separate 1/4 wave radial wires, one for each band. It also loaded on all
bands and worked 5 more states. A couple of days later I replaced the three
1/4 wave radials with a single 16 ft counterpoise and had similar results so
decided to just keep the simple 16 ft counterpoise along with the 55 ft long
wire. This version was used from the second story window of our kids home
over New Years while baby sitting grandkids. This trip identified the need
for the KXPD1 to simplify my portable station operation. The first thing I
did when returning home was to order this option and am anxious to start
using it. Next time to the kids house I'll have one less big thing to carry.
I'll continue to play with different lengths of long wires but so far the
little KX1 has worked good with all I've tried.
