I'm moving forward in my quest for finding the solution for my low xmt =
audio with the KSB2 SSB adapter and the new Elecraft MH2 mike.
I've checked every part and every solder joint at least three times.
I'm left with the gut feeling it's a bad mike so I want to prove it and =
the only other mike I have is on my ICOM IC-746, a MH-36.
So I have to re-wire the mike header for this mike, and here is the =
question......
According to the manual, this ICOM mike has AF on pin 1 (see resitor), =
PTT on pin 5, DN on pin 3, UP =3DNC, FUNCT=3DNC, 5V on pin 2 (see =
resistor note) GND on pin 6 and GND on pin7.
So, this is my question:
Do I hook it up as above and finally add a 10K resistor between pins 1 =
and 5 after 1 goes to AF and 5 goes to 5V?? I see no evedence that =
there is a mike preamp in this device, so guess I don't hook up pin # 2, =
yes?
Just want to be sure as it will involve some work and I don't want to =
void my warranty! LOL
Again, thanks to you all for helping me get through this with not much =
loss of hair.....
