Ken,

Each K2 will have slightly different characteristics due to variations in
the crystals used for the filters.  You do need to adjust the BFOs to place
the center of the passband at the audio pitch that you want to listen to.
Spectrogram can be used to give you a visual indication that things are
correct.  Check out the information on my website www.qsl.net/w3fpr -
article on Dial Calibration, particularly Step 3.  There you will find how
to accomplish the alignment and links to additional information if you need
it.
