Greetings!

"I see the EQP-2004 is set for 3/13 to run 24 hours. I was just reading the
rules at the Elecraft web page, and observe that NO SOFTWARE has been
offered for the 2004 version of EQP. Can we HOPE that some s/w guru will
take on this task?"

Last year, Bob, N4BP offered an EQP.CRT template for NA users. It worked
well for me, but this year another field (name) has been added to the
logging requirements. However, I still plan on using Bob's template and
simply write the name down on paper for later transfer to my log.

This is what Bob wrote about using his template in a message to the Elecraft
reflector:

"Copy the file, EQP.CRT to the \NA\CRT directory.

You have three fields in which to enter info. The first is received RST,
the third is SPC. Obvious entries...

The middle field is titled "K*/Info" If no info is received (station wasn't
using an Elecraft rig), you MUST
enter "NONE" (or anything else - but the field must have an entry). If
station sends K1 or K2 info, enter "K2/0438" (that's my S/N). The field
will take very few non-alpha/numeric characters and the "/" is the one
obvious one that it accepts. DO NOT hit space bar after "K2" as that will
put you in the SPC field. If you do prefer a blank between K2 and 0438, use
the right-arrow key to skip a position. There will be one position left at
the end of the field (eight total) - add "F" there if the station is a
field tester.

For power, I'm assuming you will use the same throughout the contest. NA
will mult your QSO's by 3 if you're QRP. If you're between 5 and 15 watts,
you are "low power" and will get a X2 mult. If you are over 15W,
you are high power and get X1."

If you need the template, e-mail me at [email protected] and I'll send you
the file. I haven't asked Bob for permission to do this, but he knows where
I live, and it's cold here and snow lies deep on the ground. No place for
south Floridians to venture :)
