I thought of that -- a replacement front panel and control board, but
decided it couldn't be done in the same form factor without having to press
the buttons with a toothpick (I noted you said a _larger_ panel).

I guess I should qualify my comments.... once everything is set up, the user
interface is pretty straight-forward -- tap or hold.

Set-up is the "bear"; I simply haven't had enough time to operate to be able
to memorize both set-up menus, the menus for the DSP, and the Tuner. A PC
program to do that with a nice UI would be nice (may already exist, haven't
researched it --- do any of the programs listed by Elecraft do this?)...
get everything set-up the way you want on the PC, pull the DB9 off the back
and go.
