[Elecraft] Keying Bandwidth Mod and New 2.04 Firmware

I am about to start building K2 #4019.  It is, of course, disappointing =
to
find that it will cost me $80 to bring my brand new kit up to the latest
revision level, but less disappointing than the owner of K2 #4059!  The =
line
has to be drawn somewhere, I guess.

My question is this - I note it is OK to apply the firmware change =
without
doing the hardware mod to the CW keying envelope, but what about the
reverse.  Is it OK for me to apply the hardware mod but hold off on the
firmware upgrade?  That would allow me to cut in the mod as I build
(invisibly cutting the track under U10 (LMC660) rather than visibly =
adjacent
to pin 1/2) rather than having to mod an build PCB.

Also, have any UK builders thought of sourcing the mod components =
locally?
It strikes me that it may be possible to source the 3 capacitors, 2
resistors and a PIN diode more economically than $19 + air mail postage.
Views please?
