Well, let's see. I got my ticket in 1953 while I was in the Navy. I got out
in 1956 and D104s were the rage then or shortly thereafter, so 2004-1956 =
48 years. Now that is vintage. :-)
The D104 looks like an oversized lollipop. It is a high impedance crystal
mic and was known for it great sound on am (amplitude modulation) and later
on SSB. The most popular version was the D104G. The D104G was the D104 with
a G-stand, the G-stand providing push-to-talk. Later versions also had an
amplifier in the base. Sorry, I do not have a picture handy.
