[Elecraft] K2 Speaker switch?

Hi
You could use the switch for the internal battery if you do not have =
that option. Just re-label the switch and wire it into the speaker line. =
However if you are running the external and the internal at the same =
time they are in parallel so if they are both 4 ohms you will be putting =
a 2 ohm load on the amplifier and it may not like that. That is why the =
internal speaker is disconnected when the external is plugged in. An =
external headphone box should not be a problem as the impedance is =
usually higher than a speaker and would not add much load to the =
amplfier.=20

Subject: [Elecraft] K2 Speaker switch?
Has anyone modified their K2 to add a switch to the speaker so that =
the=20
internal speaker can be turned on/off and still have an external=20
speaker going? It would also involve a mod to the rear panel audio=20
connector.
If so, where did you mount the switch? I am contemplating such a mod =
so=20
that I can route the audio to an external headphone selector box, and=20
can independently switch the speaker on and off. There are a couple of =
places i could mount a small switch, but it would be nice to be able =
to=20
use the same location for a similar switch when I get the KPA100.
Suggestions?
