[Elecraft] re: XG1

Passed by the Elecraft booth in Orl this weekend....  Decided to pick up an
XG1 and meet Eric.

30 minutes of soldering on the bench then I hooked it up to both my MP and
K2/100 to get the MDS "scoop".

1998 1000MP (inrad IF mod, both inrad 400s on)    -133.19dBm
K2/100 #3497 (500hz filter on)                                 -134.76dBm

Both AGC's off, K2 preamp on, MP IPO off.

I'm impressed.

Dumb question (I'm a biologist):
AC voltage on my DVM fluctuates dramatically while taking readings (both
rigs), while the manual says to "note the reading".  I just recorded the
observed "average" of the varying readings...  Is this the right way to do
it?
