[Elecraft] #3628 Smoke Test.

Hi guys,

Well after a silly cock-up (I removed the rear polarising filter from =
the
back of the LCD display and thanks to Elecraft for a really rapid
replacement) I have got to the power on stage and test series #1.  I =
stopped
off this evening to build the DMM RF probe.  After it was built, I =
encased
the PC board of the probe in black heat shrink.  It looks good, but I =
hope
that was not a stupid thing to do.  Will also build the noise gen and =
sig
gen before proceeding to do all the tests very carefully and noting the
results.  However, all the preliminary tests went OK (change frequency, =
rate
change, display supply voltage and current, band change up and down, =
relays
making cheerful clicking noises.)

When I get it receiving on 40 m, now that will be something.
