On the K2 if you properly align your filters with something like the
Spectrograph you should be really really close. But yes any filter will
create a variation. An easy way to check how well you have aligned your
filters for CW is to tune in a station and then step thru the filters. =
If
there is no tonal change in the received signal, you did a good job.

The KAF2 manual states the following on page 11:
"The BPF has one interesting advantage over narrow crystal filters when =

in data modes.
If you use the BPF in combination with the wide filter (O P 1 ), there =
will
be zero frequency shift between transmit and receive."
Is it "normal" to have a frequency shift between transmit and receive =
when
using the narrow filters?
